Expeeed Software’s Director of Data Science, Dr. Kevin Croxall, recently shared his thoughts on the intersection of Data Science and Machine Learning with the Columbus Machine Learners meetup (https://www.meetup.com/Columbus-Machine-Learners/events/pxxvdpyxlbcb/).  He addressed the need for developers and data scientists alike to understand the tools being employed in solutions.  An intricate mathematical understanding of the algorithms is not necessary.  Rather, understanding the general principals of a method and where a given methodology or tool is useful will significantly assist in knowing which to employ.  Subsequently, resisting the urge to add additional layers of complication will yield results where interpretations can be extracted with significantly greater ease.
